About electrolysis machines (ECA)
ECA works in the same way as the human immune system.
When the body is attacked by invading bacteria and viruses, the immune system responds immediately by sending neutrophils (white blood cells) to the invasion.
Neutrophils are one of the body’s main defenses against bacteria and, when activated, produce large amounts of a mixed oxidant solution that is effective in eliminating invading microbes and pathogens.
This weak acid, which occurs naturally in the human body, is called hypochlorous acid (HOCI) and is a potent disinfectant. It is non-toxic to humans and is very effective as a fast-acting antimicrobial. Hypochlorous acid is widely recognized as one of the most effective known biocides.
In detail, the system consists of an electrolytic cell containing two electrodes, a cathode and an anode, separated by a membrane.
An aqueous solution consisting of filtered and soft water and, depending on the application, sodium chloride (NaCl, salt) is injected into the cell. Using electricity with predefined and controlled current and voltage values, the cell produces an electrically activated fluid:

Disinfectant without alcohol
Aqua4power™ – produced from Aquacode™ machines is a water-based product which, unlike alcohol and chlorhexidine, is not toxic to the body. The active substance hypochlorous acid eliminates viruses up to 99.9% in 30 seconds. Also as effective as hand alcohol and alcohol but is much gentler on the skin.
HOCl is a naturally occurring substance that is produced in our white blood cells to fight bacteria and inflammation after an infection. HOCl provides a unique power to eradicate dangerous organisms without damaging our cells. HOCl is one of the only agents that can heal our wounds while being lethal to almost all known dangerous bacteria and viruses that threaten our health.

The brewing and beverage industry
Aquacode disinfectant units can be used for a number of different applications such as disinfecting process water, tunnel pasteurizers, bottle washing and cleaning of conveyor belts and conveyor systems. The use of an Aquacode
aggregates result in significant savings because it allows processes to run at lower temperatures and the water can be recycled.
Cooling towers and ponds
Anolyte, manufactured on site with our units, effectively controls legionella and other bacteria to maintain a safe and healthy environment. The powerful disinfectant also destroys the biofilm and is no more corrosive than ordinary tap water.
By adding Anolyte to wastewater, you can reduce the bacterial load without polluting the environment.
Food and dairy industry
As Anolyte is non-toxic, it is approved for use in the food industry for disinfection for a large number of areas, including preparation, piping, transport systems and packaging lines.
Meat and charcuterie industry
Bacterial contamination of meat is a constant and current problem. Aquacode ™ can be used with the help of its powerful Anolyte solution where there is a need for surface cleaning and disinfection. For example, processing machines, packing boxes and transport systems, but without the problems associated with traditional chlorine-based chemicals.
Washing of fruits and vegetables

Anolyte made on site can ensure a safe pool environment without unpleasant odors or stinging eyes, effects felt in traditional chlorine-based water treatments. It is also safer for staff, as they do not have to handle potentially hazardous chemicals.
Hotels and public spaces
Legionella is a major health problem in rooms with large water systems where, for example, showers are not often used, such as hotel rooms during the low season. In the unused areas, legionella and other harmful bacteria can form and grow in the water system. By connecting an Aquacode unit to its water system, legional, without costly high-temperature flushing of the pipe network can be prevented.
Fish and seafood
Anolyte has been shown to be very effective in eliminating bacteria such as cholera and E. coli. Using Anolyte in handling seafood provides consumers with a safer product.
Anolyte is harmless to health and is not corrosive, making it ideal for sterilizing medical equipment, to prevent bacterial infections. Cold sterilization of medical instruments, cleaning of surfaces, including
walls, furniture and floors. Can be used for disinfection of hospital laundry. Disinfection of the air by dimming with Anolyte eliminates / reduces the use of chemicals.
Agriculture and livestock farming
Anolyte is used for general disinfection and cleaning of surfaces and equipment. By fogging Anolyte you get a good control of aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. Anolyte as a drinking water additive promotes feed assimilation and general health (reduces mortality). Guarantees the elimination of skin parasitic diseases.
The use of Anolyte in agriculture can result in increased yields and improved animal husbandry by eliminating bacteria in the animals’ drinking water and feed.

Oil and gas industry
Anolyte and catholyte solutions are used to stimulate and improve oil and gas production and to improve the performance of drilling fluids. Anolyte is a very effective alternative to bactericides, which are not biodegradable or are bioaccumulative. Anolyte is a selective bactericide that eliminates bacteria, which accelerate corrosion while being harmless to humans.
Aquacode units that produce Anolyte are suitable for sterilizing drinking and ballast water on board ships. Anolyte can also be mixed in water used for ice for the fishing industry to increase the durability of the products and provide a safer product.
HOW IT WORKS
Breaking new ground in – Sterilization, Disinfecting, Water purification
ELECTROLYZED OXIDIZING WATER OR IONIZED WATER SOLUTION
Aquacode™ Electrolyzed Water (EW, EOW or EO, also known as electrolyzed oxidizing water or ionyzed water solution) technology is the process of passing ordinary water or a diluted saline solution through a specially designed electrolytic cell in order to modify its functional properties without adding reagents. Aquacode™ solutions (anolyte and catholyte) have the demonstrated ability to:
- Destroy microorganisms such as botrytis fungus, salmonella, e-coli, listeria and anthrax spores;
- Purify water; and wastewater
- Clean and Degrease.
Aquacode™ designs, markets, assembles and sells equipment that can produce two basic types of fluids:
1. Anolyte solutions are strong oxidizing solutions with a pH range of 2.5 – 8.5 and an Oxidation-Reduction Potential (ORP) of +600 to +1200 mV. Anolyte can potentially be used as a broad spectrum germicidal agent to kill all types of microorganisms including viruses, fungi and bacteria.
2. Catholyte solutions are antioxidizing, mild alkaline solutions with a pH range of 10.5 to 12.0 and ORP of –600 to –900 mV. Catholyte solutions can potentially be used as degreasers or detergents.
Based on extensive research, both anolyte and catholyte solutions:
- Are environmentally friendly
- Are non-toxic to both humans and animals
- Do not require special handling
- Are powerful biocides
- Can be safely disposed of in sewage systems
- Are fast-acting
- Can be used at all stages of disinfection and cleaning
- At recommended concentrations, do not bleach surfaces or materials
- Can be applied in liquid, ice or aerosol (fog) form
- Are hypoallergenic
- Yield by-products that are non-toxic, environmentally friendly and leave no synthetic chemical residue
- Can be generated on-site, thus eliminating handling and storage of chemicals
- Can be produced on-site from tap water and salt in required quantities and concentrations of active ingredients, pH and salinity (mineralization)
Anolyte contains among other things Hypochlorous Acid that is a highly potent bactericide. Bacteria such as Escherichia coli when exposed to Hypochlorous Acid lose viability in less than 100ms. Escherichia coli is a major cause of food and water-borne infections in humans.
In addition to killing bacteria anolyte is effective in breaking down Biofilms which protect the bacteria from the action of the hypochlorous acid.
As a hard-surface disinfectant anolyte application on a daily basis for more than a decade has demonstrated that microorganisms do not develop immunity to anolyte over time. This makes it possible to apply Aquacode equipment in a number of areas directly related to personal health and safety.
MORE ABOUT THE TECHNIQUE
The heart of Aquacode’s technology is our cylindrical cell which is the only product on the market with a double cooling electrode system: anode and cathode electrode cooled.
Unlike other electrolytic cells, a membrane separates the Anolyte and the Catholyte solutions generated at the respective anode and cathode chambers of the cell. This prevents the two streams from mixing and forms a simple sodium hypochlorite solution, as is the case with many other commercially available electrolytic cells. Our cells are modular and can be disassembled if needed.
The technology contains components built in a unique way. Unlike other cylindrical coaxial cells, which are the most common today, our cell has been optimized, designed and developed with a special anode geometry that has enabled the integration of a double electrode (anode-cathode) cooling system.
Similar electrolysers have been known in the past, but it was not until the late 1970s that EW technology was developed by the Russian Institute of Medical and Scientific Research. Earlier models of EW products were sold throughout the former Soviet Union, generally for water disinfection and for hospital sterilization.
The invention used by Aquacode makes it possible to significantly expand its commercial applications and in this respect gives Aquacode ™ an undeniable advantage over existing competitors. Our cell is a membrane cell that is ion-permeable and separates fluid but also allows ion exchange due to porosity structures.
Aquacode cells are manufactured with varying production volumes.
Everything from 5L / h to 1200L / h anolyte per cell.
Combination of cells makes it possible to manufacture Aquacode units with higher capacity.
The anolyte can either be dosed directly into your system,
or alternatively to an accumulator tank if required
dosage varies. With the help of a sensor-controlled dosing pump, the dosing is adapted to the biological load in your system.
Requirements for our systems : access to salt, water and electricity.
The generators can be controlled by PLC with one
easy-to-use HMI (Human Machine interface) that allows the end user to precisely control the pH of the Anolyte and the correct dosage for a particular application.
The average cost to produce 1000 liters of anolyte in a European and North American country is about 3 EUR.
This makes the liquid a very cost-effective alternative to many chemicals used today.
